Hi.

I'm Matt and this is my just-for-fun side project. My day job actually mostly happens at night (I'm a performing singer/songwriter).

I first learned about Dave Barnes as a senior at the University of Illinois. I stumbled on Dave’s name on the list of upcoming shows at a well known music venue in Knoxville I had recently discovered, clicked on it, and the rest is history.

Dave has been a consistent source of friendship and camaraderie over the years, as we’ve both soared and trudged through this career in music.  I’m always amazed at how often we are going through similar things/thinking similar thoughts about life and music. Each pursuing our own independent careers, we’ve written, recorded, and toured together, in some capacity for the past 15 years.

I asked Dave to interview ME for The Curiosity Habit about the process of writing and recording my newest record, Gun Shy, and we talked so much it turned into 2 episodes. I think you’re gonna love being a fly on the wall to our conversation! Listen & enjoy HERE!
